Reading/Phonics Support

Our phonics programme supports students in learning and developing their knowledge of sounds, diagraphs and formation of words. It will require young people to engage for at least 4 sessions per week for either 30 minutes, or 1 hour to ensure that the required progress can be made. It will focus on everyday challenging words, flash card sounds, key words and then the reading of a text. Young people will then develop their skills by using the sounds and words that they have learnt that week in a sentence. Baselines and assessments every 4 weeks will monitor progress and young people.

WHAT PEOPLE SAY

Lisa

After being disappointed with a prediction of a 4 in both English exams, AEP helped my daughter to achieve a grade 7 in both. She couldn't have achieved this without the support and guidance that she was given.

I really enjoyed the one-to-one sessions that I received. It made learning fun and helped me to pass my GCSE exams.

It was a pleasure to work with Alternative Education Provision. We are really proud of how far they have helped our son come.
